Hello. . .

So I've been slightly busy with the little bits and pieces of the wedding! Mom and I finally did make my Grandma's Orange Cookies I loved as a kid. As much as my Mom hates being crafty and baking. I decided on us making the orange cookies for the guests that check into the hotel. So needless to say we had to make a batch and we packaged some up in the food saver to see if we can freeze them for 2 weeks and still taste stealer. So I'm not baking up a storm the week of the wedding!
Nom Nom Nom!

On another note I want to become a coupon-er! So I cut and organized COUPONS! I'm going off to get me a binder and start my savings! Kyle was making fun of me because I took a picture of my coupons! Tada!

Howdy Partners

Happy Hump Day!

So today I'm at the parental units house. My Dad called on Monday night saying that my oldest dog Lacy ( my 10 year old daschund) was hurt. Since she's so old and doesn't like apartment living she lives with my parents and Barnaby live with Kyle and I at the apartment. Lacy has always been my princess and I've always treated her that way. She would ideal love for me to move back home. Yesterday when I arrived at the house she wouldn't mov
e, she just laid on the couch. She doesn't jump or go up and down stairs. (She's currently laying on my lap as I write this) Dad does say that since I've been here she's really spunked up! What can I say... She's a Momma's girl!

My Lacy Girl!

So I was talking to my parents about this new fancy blog I'm doing. (Also remind you that I've always inspired the WHOLE family to start eating healthier) Dad felt I needed to brag on him a little bit. Don't tell him that I said this, but I'm actually pretty darn proud of him. He's pretty much a rockstar! I've told him that I've wanted him to lose weight to prolong his life so that when I decide to have little crum crunchers he can be in the best help to play with them! As of today he's lost 37 pounds, he's doing awesome! Of course I've spread WW knowledge to my Mommy, she cooks Dad healthy meals and BAM off goes the pounds!

Although this picture is 37 pounds heavier then he is. It makes me laugh! Yes my two doggies LOVE their Grandpa!

On a side note, I didn't get around to making my Grandma's Orange cookies yesterday. So today I'm making them!!

Grandma Pape's Orange Cookies

3 cups flour
1 tsp cream of tartar
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1 1/4 cup butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
3 T milk
1 tsp vanilla

In a large bowl stir together the flour, cream of tartar, salt and baking soda; set aside. In mixing bowl beat the butter for 30 seconds. Add the sugar and beat until fluffy. Add eggs, milk and vanilla and mix well. Add dry ingredients and beat until just mixed. Drop by teaspoonful onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 for 9-11 minutes or until the edges of the cookies are golden. Remove to wire rack to cool.

Orange Icing:

1/3 cup soft margarine
2 1/2 cups powdered sugar
2-3 T Orange Juice
1 1/2 T grated orange rinds

Cream margarine and sugar until smooth. Add orange juice and rinds. Beat until smooth. Spread on cookies

Remind you that nothing about these cookies are WW friendly. Just pure amazing! They remind me of my childhood and my Grandma! Ahhh. Once the cookies are finished I will upload a picture!!

Happy Tuesday!

Good Morning Lovlies!

So today is March 9, ugh. 2 months since I was laid off, on a positive note though 20 days till I'm 24. Wow. I'm getting OLD!

So Julia and I went to our morning Water Aerobics class today! Ah I do enjoy it! I must say I'm Super lucky to have a friend like Julia! She knows how to push me! I won't allow myself to say no to her. Because of Julia I actually find myself in the gym 4-5 days! Pretty strange for me!!!

Today's agenda.
- Water Aerobics . . . . . . CHECK
- Make some cookies
- "Help" Annie wit her homework!
- Maybe see Alice Wonderland

Today's cookies are not WW friendly at all. They are what remind me of my Mom's Mom. They are what in our family we call orange cookies. I want them made for gifts at the wedding. So today we are going to make a batch, freeze them an
d see if they freeze well. (So I'm not baking up a storm right before the wedding!) I will post the recipe when I do get to my Mom's house! I highly recommend them to EVERYONE!

On another WW healthier note, since I'm on a cookie rage. I love these!

Peanut Patties

Of course I'm home at my apartment currently. I couldn't help but bake! Today though I decided to switch it up! I figured since one of our pups has a wheat allergy I would make doggie treats he could eat!!

Here's my little helper thinking about stealing them before they are baked!

Peanut Butter Patties

1 1/2 cups water
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup applesauce
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
1/3 cup peanut butter (crunchy works great)
2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
3/4 cup regular flour
1 cup cornmeal
3/4 cup oats

Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Mix liquid ingredients together well. Combine the dry ingredients in a large bowl. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients bowl and mix thoroughly until smooth. Roll into a ball; place ball on floured surface. Roll out to 1/2" thickness. Cut into desired shapes (bone-shaped cookiecutters work great!). Place on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake for 20 minutes; turn off the oven and leave the biscuits in there for one hour to harden.

Funny thing of all. . . The website I found this recipe was called www.thepoop.com

They are currently in the oven baking right now! I will later edit with how many tail wags Barnaby gives them and Goliath!

Blogging

So I've been told while I've been unemployed to make a blog. Since lately in between applying for jobs here and there I have tackled on many side "projects." Why not add a blog to that right?

I've always had a job since the age of 16; being jobless is actually not as bad as I thought it would be. All the things I have stopped doing because I was working. I know have had the joys of doing!

Projects:
* Cooking - I honestly think I should of (or was in a former life) a chef! Further down the road I'm considering to go to culinary school. Well once Kyle and I's finances are in the correct spot!

* Crocheting - I really had stopped crocheting once my Grandma Bonnie passed away October of 2001.

* Baking - Not from a box! Any baking from a box is for pussy's! Haha.

* Scrapbooking - Oh how I remember why I stopped scrapbooking! Sheesh it's expensive! At least this time I'm helping Annie with Scrapbooking, so I'm not having to spend any money! I just get to have fun doing it!

* BINGO - As a young kid my wonderful Mother and awesome Aunt Kim use to take me and my cousin to the Bingo hall as a kid! I LOVED it, I always wanted to have my Birthday Party there! Haha. When first laid off my Aunt asked me if I'd like to go to Bingo again, after probably 10 years of not playing! Oh I love Bingo and People watching

*Wedding Planning - So it's almost 3 months till my BIG DAY! I've been finishing up the last of the details. I must say I really don't understand why people stress and dread wedding planning! I have loved EVERY moment of planning mine! Although I will be sad when it's all over! I'll have to add something else to the list!

*Working out - Since I've been having a job since the age of 15 and I have always made my job a top priority, work consumed my life. So I have joined 24 hour fitness and I'm working out at least 3 days a week!

*Video Slideshow - This was the most recent item added to my list of project! Putting together a beautiful video slideshow for Annie's Graduation!

Needless to say, by the list of projects I have going on. I have been keeping myself busy! My intent for this blog is to explain the awesomeness of what's going on in my life! (Well and Kyle and Barnaby's life too)

Today I decided that I would make homemade dog biscuits!!
